Title: exhaust emission dash board symbal light on

i have a 2003 2.2 petrol omega, the exhaust emissions light on the dash board has come on. just prior to the light coming on i had a little difficulty starting, cranked the engine about four times normaly it start first time.

i stopped the engine and restarted, it started first time again but unfortunatly the dash board emmision symbl is now on permantly.

i cant see or hear anything wrong. can anybody shed some light on this problem.

i have seen some engines go like this on new cars, it was down to the emissions sensor on the exhaust, if it gose it can do this but as for seing it for my self on a mig It cout be, or  dodgy wiring plug of the sensor. but some one will set you right soon.

sounds like classic cam sensor failing symptoms to me
