Title: Steering is a little heavier than normal???

 but the belt is ok, there is plently of fuild, no leaks, belt is not squealing so I do not believe it is slipping, but it definitely feels a little heavier than normal, any idea's?  She is a 3.0l v6 btw...

should also have mentioned that the tyres pressures are fine

Remember that its also electrically assisted.

Check fuse 14 to see if its blown as it also covers the cigarette lighter.  Was a post recently that had the lighter jammed in by one of the kids in the rear and shorted it out...

Fuse 14 it was! It had blown just after I put the drivers side heated seat on!!!

Is the front cigarette lighter covered by this fuse as well?

By the look of Page 186 (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/andrew.reynolds983/Manuals/Omega2002Manual.pdf) I would say YES!  :y  :y  :y

it may be you are blowing fuses as in your other form :y
