Title: Dual Mass flywheel
Post by: Squatch on 23 December 2009, 15:00:22
The clutch needs to be replaced as it is beginning to slip. Does the DMF need to be replaced too? Any advice appreciated as always :y

I would wait and see when the gearbox is off. A DMF is big money :o

Yes - a brief check has shown that to be the case :o - but I read that fitting a new clutch to an old flywheel could make it fail..although I think that was on a golf diesel..

DMF's rarely cause trouble on omegas....golf diesels however eat them and when replaced by solid flywheels, the gearboxes are fast despatched to (which is no surprise)
