Hi All :)
I have a v plate omega 2.0 petrol AUTOMATIC just had headgasket done drove for around 100 miles came to some lights after travelling about 2 miles after fuelling up then just died. Turns over wont start up????
Now i no what your thinking and no i didnt put wong fuel in
The cylinders are getting fuel ;D
The plugs are sparking ;D
Compression test good only 10 psi difference on the cylinders max ;D
Timing spot on ;D
chip in the key is in there ;D
I have tried some easy start but no joy ;D
sounds like its on the verge of firing but just does not burst in to life
Also had a full service as well as crankshaft sensor maybe 2 mths ago also
your opinions and ideas are most welcome!!!!! :y
I do have one idea that might solve it but that involves £5 of petrol and a box of matches he he!!!! ;D

First thing to try.. :)
Post up the result .. :), but don't turn it over too much
My worry is that the timing has slipped following the headgasket change.

You sound very sure the valve timing is correct..was the belt re-fitted by someone who knows these engines?
you need to check your fault codes
A few times I have done HG changes on Migs (all sorts) and had stalling probs afterwards - due to finishing off an already frail crank sensor wire...
-
no guys timing checked and chcked again and the crank sensor has been replaced prevoius to head gasket 2mths ago or less

wait for it.....
SNAPPED CAMSHAFT............................
Im trying to locate a second hand cam any ideas..?
Only question is what are the chances of it doing damage to the valves...?? as stated compression tests good cam shaft snapped on 1 & 2 cylinders exhaust side..?
your opinions / help would be appreciated... :y :y :y :y

:-?
Got a piccy???
-
Where are you ;D
It begs the question, if the cam is broken - when the HG was done- were the shells fitted in the correct order, and in the correct rotation :-X
-
i suspect the shells were not put back in there correct position and or not tightened correctly either......???? ::) ::)
thats my opinion anyway........
any thoughts on the valves been bent...?
sorry i do not have any pics of the camshaft
