Title: stiff throttle pedal
Post by: Mr Stud on 31 December 2009, 11:01:59
is there anyway to make the throttle pedal a bit looser,as when press it it seems stiff to press and is quite hard to maintain low speeds,as you seem to be pressing more than need to and then you going to fast than you want to....there seems to be no happy medium in it and either got throttle or you haven't....

hope that makes sense useless at explaining things....

Have you remived the end attached to the throttle valve & made sure the cable is moving freely inside the outer sheath? could be a sign its worn , or, the butterfly flap may have seized slightly. They can get a build upof crud if it has not been cleaned for some time. Somewhere to start at least.  :y

i guess this is a 3.0 with throttle cable and not a 3.2 drive by wire? in which case check the throttle mechanism is clean an lubed along with the cable. These sometimes get knobbled by mechanics trying to fix a tickover problem not realising the tick over is handled by a seperate valve on the pass side of plenum.
