Please might I ask; if anyone with a parts-catalogue, will tell me the part number of the radiator "top Hose" (i.e: battery side) to ask for on the phone to Vx. dealer parts dept.
The pup-mobile is a: 1999, 2.5 V6, auto, w/aircon (if it makes a difference?)
Also, any ideas how much Vx. 'Red' coolant to buy, to refill....I think the engine may still have some coolant in it: upto the level of the transfer-pipe? :-?

You might just aswell start again with the coolant. You've no way of knowing how much is still left in the system, so drain & flush till clear-ish, drain again, then fill with a gallon of red antifreeze, top up with water & you'll then have 50:50 mix of coolant! :y :y

mines a 2.5 auto late 97,
part number on my top hose is gm 90 572 935 .
probably doesn't mean much as part number on gen gm rear shocks is different to that which the forum tells us to use!
