Title: Noisy heater fan bearing
Post by: smokingomega on 02 January 2010, 11:16:24
Hi
I was wondering if there is any easy way of getting to my heater blower moter?
the problem is i think the bearings need a bit of a lube.
I`ve heared that they are a bit of a pig to get to
Cheers

Removing blower motor is a pain in the rse - top two bolts have to be removed (& refitted) by feel!  You need to drop glovebox out, remove trunking tray, undo fixing bolts disconnect electrics and then waggle the b*gger out! As Hayes says "refitting is the reverse of removal"  ;D

Took me a couple of hours to swap blower motors on the Estate whilst standing on my head under the dash!!

I`m not actually wanting it out all I need to do is just lube the bearings. it has that dry metalic sound now an then an i think a squirt of oil should sort it out.
Thanks for the help

The Estate blower had noisy bearings - swapped it for another blower courtesy of an OOF breaker.  Cannot see a way to lube bearings on this!! Think you will end up taking it out mate  :(
