both chain and belt tensioners are automatic spring loaded, no adjustments

if its the belt tensioner that loose, check for wear around spring

bit its gone over centre or you have the belt route wrong?
if its over centre you need to remove the black turbo diesel plastic bit then look at tensioner  if its vertical its ok if it leans to the right as you ook at it then its over centre, put a bar to the right side of it and lever it towards the centre of the engine, it wil pop back into place it should be, difficult to explain without demonstration tho, take it you didnt  put new belt on? when worn the belt is to slack to keep tensioner on correctly if it has gone over centre it will pop out again when using it , so new belt would be good investment, tensioner prob has been written about on here a few times
