My Omega has an aftermarket Clifford CAT1 Alarm fitted. It's a pain in the arse as I have to lock, then unlock the doors before ignition will become live. Also, the transmitter only works when placed up against (or very close) to the drivers window glass.... I have replaced the battery in the transmitter to no avail.
I dont have any documentation which corresponds to the alarm, other than the installers certificate, so no code to turn this feature off. The doors auto lock when the car is started, which is another annoyance.
The installer of the system is oop North, so not easy to go see them to find out how and where in the vehicle it would have been fitted. I've had a good look under the dash (removing the panels and such), but no sign of the alarm can be found.
I'd like to know the likelihood of being able to remove this system (when I find it) and revert back to the good old Vauxhall Transmitter. (Which doesn't operate the door locks at present (Disconnected????))
NB: I haven't informed my insurance company that this system is fitted, so removing it wont affect the legalities of my Policy.

LOL Skruntie. I have tried that.
Rusty: Yeah, I have got all the manuals from t'interweb.... but this particular system needs a code (which you input from button presses on the transmitter) to alter the settings.
I unfortunately dont have the code. :(

yeah you can get the reset code from them, they need your address and serial code plus reg of car if fitted by them or there party, they then send out the code in the post.

Good darts Rusty. I never thought about them having the code stored somewhere. I'll call them tomorrow :)
