As so of you know iv been having probs getting my car to run so here is a vid of it but to be honest it sounds crap

Is that with new pump, tensioners and rollers?

If so, is belt rubbing anywhere?

Certainly doesn`t sound like big/little ends as in your other post

No the belt hasnt been do as thats all fine

I would check the bearings on the tensioner, rollers, and water pump.

Could that make the car run poor ie poor power and hard to start when warm/hot

Poor power yes, if its a tooth out on the cambelt, hard starting usually cam or crank sensors.

Check as mentioned cambelt area

Just go and check the belt, something is rubbing there, or its a failed tensioner / waterpump

before considering that - is the cam timing bang on.  The noise does sound bearing to me, making me wonder about cambelt tensioner.


Does it make same noise with aux belt off (OK to run 2.2 without aux belt, as waterpump is cambelt driven)

its not blue its white smoke coming from the cracked manifold

Tb yes i tryed it without the aux belt off and still making the same noise

Also, get yourself a camlock for that engine, reckon you're gonna need it.

It aint got a cam belt cover on it!

Check the timing......easy and quick to do

iv checked the timing and it all seems bang on
