i have a oily smell inside the car, v6 2.5 omega , on investigation i have what looks like a creamy sludge under the oil cap, does this mean my head gasket has blown although the oil on the dip stick looks good and the coolant is stiil high, or is there another reason
cheers medsey

mayo on the cap is normal, just condensation mixing with oil.
as long as coolant is just coolant not sludge, and dipstick clear, then dont worry.
the cap will clear with longer hot journeys.
short cold ones cause it, especially in this cold weather.

rocker oil leak on to exhaust manifold. Mine was drivers side.
Lift bonnet after a run and see if smoke rising and have a smell.

Oily smell is probably leaking camcover gaskets, replace with genuine Vauxhall items and clean breathers to prevent it re occurring. :y

camcovers a more modern description :)
