Cam cover gaskets are leaking mate. Have a read of this http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1180463563 :y

As Rob says, most likely to be camcover gasket problem. Don't be tempted to buy cheap replacement gasket instead of genuine Vauxhall, you'll regret it.
There is another possibility, although remote. If the oil needs topping up regularly, and you don't use a funnel, and therefore spill some around the filler cap, that spillage will all end up in the plugwells.
Dry them out as much as poss with copious quantities of kitchen towel, and see whether it comes back. That way you'll know what the cause is.
A little oil falling into the cylinders won't be a problem, as long as you mop out the majority before removing plugs.

i reckon they designed the fault in deliberately to keep the work shops busy, same with wishbone bushes, have you noticed those 2 parts are probably the most overpriced of all gm spares...?

4-pot a lot bloody easier :)

My '88 2.0 carlton used to squeeze out the filler cap and run down onto the exhaust. Like something from the wacky races, disappearing into my own smoke cloud every time I stopped.
