I've heard I can get a software upgrade for my 02 2.6 auto box, if so has anyone ever had it done ? whats it like ? did it make much of a difference ? was it worth it ? would you recommend it ? how much ? and where can I get it done ? phew !!

Many many here have had it done.
It smoothes out changes, and makes the car feel more powerful imho, doesnt jump between gears so much.
You can get it done by any of the tech2 owners here (none very local to you unfortunately) or ask Vauxhall to do it,
if you do that, get quotes from a few dealers, as prices vary massively.

Or make it to one of the OOF meets (eg, Lake District in June), where there is often a Tech2.
If its one of the Admin Team doing it, prices are in my signature (need to charge to offset the purchase price and running costs)

The Lakes in June it is then, is there anything i need to do like book in advance or something, also what's the 'climate update' and what advantage is gained.

I was after this myself, there is a guy on the wirral who has tech2( and knows how to use it apparently) Known as Dr Omega I recall.
I will call him and see if he can oblige, could do 2 at the same time which might make it a bit cheaper!
Any more takers locally I wonder??

Aye he is, I have got his email and mobey number from a receipt for my last belt change so will try and catch him this week.

Only minifacelift (last letter of VIN W or X) and facelifts.
