Title: New Years demand from Miggy.
Post by: Cliffo B on 01 January 2010, 17:12:24
Pulled away from traffic lights, and a drop in power, engine light flashed, then stopped, then a slow return to power. Just done pedal test and got trouble code 1700 reads  "Service vehicle soon.Request from transmission module"  Is this a warning to top up to level or an indication of something more serious?

The gearbox ecu detected a problem, thus went into limp-home.

Changing the atf is always a good idea

Hello all, finished miggy's autobox fluid change 3 days back,I finished up fitting a new filter,2 new gaskets, which I got from JPat at a good price. It took  6.5ltrs of Dexron6. It would seem there's a real bonus on the two times I've run miggy on local short runs, she's running smoother and much much quieter,I'll know better tomorrow as Ive got a 130mile round trip to do, weather allowing of course, thanks again :y :y

Done the run from Leeds to Flamborough then to Scarborough then back to Flamborough and returned to Leeds so a good test and miggys quieter and much smoother.I checked today and the T.C. is still present so possibly not out of the woods yet. :(Is it possible to remove it? or do I need to go to the local dealer to have it removed with Tech 2. :'( any advice would appreciated. :y

It is possible it will go out on its own after couple of days.
I think it takes some 20 turns of on and off before codes are cleared.

Hello,So it must be the same as my old Cav 2L 16v Ecotec that used the paperclip trick also,Ok thanks will hold back from the dealers for a week or two much healthier for miggy. :) Anyhow  won't ever allow them near miggy without my presence. :y It's not a question of expence but trust, especially with a hand held computer. How do I know what buttons are being pressed and it would appear sometimes neither do they themselves :'(   >:( Thats it rant over :y
