Please forgive me, i appreciate many of these questions have probably been answered but i cant seem to find them. Hope you dont mind me listing them all in one post?
Can anyone help? I have only had the car a week and have loved driving it (although it drinks more petrol than i do beer lol) but i have noticed:
1,Sometimes the power steering ssems like it isnt working, especially when parking its REALLY heavy, but the rst of the time is perfect!
2, The display says something about wide beam/dipped lights as a fault? (will have to check exact mesage)
3, Heated seats dont work but fuse looks ok
Also it needs brake pads, are these easy enough? I normally change pads but have never done them on an omega before.
And lastly (thanks for not dropping off) the steering on the front seems a bit 'wandery' not badly but noticeable on the motorway, i have never driven a RWD car before so not sure if this is normal.
Many thanks in advance
Matt

Hi
Regarding brake pads. These are easy enough to change. The key thing is to make sure you have the car safely up in the air before removing the wheel. There are some good maintenance guides that cover a lot of the common issues on Omegas. For example you may want to change your brake fluid while you are doing the pads. http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1156881883
Regarding wandering on Motorways. A common failure point on Omegas is the steering idler arm. They are about £35 (but don't use a cheaper pattern part to save money). Easy enough to change if you can "split" the joints.
Someone will be along to comment on the other questions

The headlight warning may be 'low beam fld/vision' or something similar which is usually one of a couple of things which relate to HID headlights -
1 One of the sensor arms which self-adjust the headlight aim have popped out of their socket. One can be found on the n/s wishbone at the front of the car and one on the o/s rear suspension.
2 The sensor on one of these arms is broken
3 The headlight motors have seized

The heated seat problem mate is a common thing on the mig,its normally the heat pad fails, and i beleive these can be repaired easy enough if you have cloth seats, but harder if its leather,as i beleive they are stitched. As for the power steering being stiff, does it mainly feel difficult to turn when stationary?.I sometimes find the same problem when the tyre pressures are very low. :y

Both HID level sensors are on the nearside. The level switch on the offside is for self levelling suspension where fitted! :y :y

The light by the switch doesnt light up though when you turn them on, dont know if that matters?
As for the steering, it is only when you are stationary or moving slowly to park, when driving its spot on.
