is there a child lock on the rear doors that would prevent the door from opening with both inside & outer handles  :-/ :y for some reason since disconnecting battery i,ve a prob. fobs lifting catch ok

The usual child locks only stop the door being opened from inside. They should open as normal from outside.

Agreed, child locks only stop from the inside. Have you reset the locks since re-fitting the battery? (ign on & press unlock on key fob).
