Central locking solenoid on the drivers door has died, it's been getting weak for a few weeks now, is it quite straightforward to replace and where is the best place to get one from??

Cheapest option is one from a breaker on here..... :y

Easy to do using Tunnie's guide. Did mine in about an hour. :y Bought new solenoid though.

That reminds me. I've been opening it with the key for about a year now. New solenoid on a shelf in the garage. :-[

BTW. Don't prise the switch cluster out, it ruins it. Once the door card is released and there's a round hole on the back you can push it out from underneath.

Thank you all, incl Tunnie for the fantastic guide, Getting one from a breaker on here and will attempt it as soon as it arrives.

thanks for that tip, i suspected it may get marked at the very least going by the giuide.
my pass side needs doing, intermitent/lazy, then fine for a month, then it plays up again and so on. Makes me wonder if it just needs lubing or something but i gather there is nothing to lube? not been in there yet.

Took the cards off myself looking for something to free up as both front doors intermittent but there's not really anything to lube but I did manage to squirt WD40 in the rubber boot on the solenoid for the passenger side by pushing the small red tube that comes with the WD40 in the top of the boot. I used a very small screwdriver to stretch the hole enough to get the tube in. Passenger side now works perfectly every time. sorry for slow response.
