hi im interested to know if anyone has fitted twin lpg tanks to there mig , thanks

Why would you need twin tanks on an Omega anyway?

to get a better range as the place i fill up near work is a great price , just wondered if i could squeeze another tank in .

There are six on ebay. ::) Hmmm, Three in the boot, two on the roof & one across the boot lid, Think of the range that would give you!!! ;) ;)

What have you currently got?
Only way I can think of is a toroidal tank and a cylinder... Would be about 160L water capacity (128L LPG) I would think... But I still can't really see the point. A 100L cylinder in the boot will give a range in excess of 300 miles :y :y

I have two tanks on my 2.0 X reg estate.
The one in the boot was fitted at the factory with the factory conversion, the second is in the spare wheel well and was fitted at an unknown time sometime after leaving the factory and before I bought it. They are linked and it takes nearly 100 liters to fill both from empty.

well thanks for the genuine replies , i believe it already has a 80 ish litre tank in the boot behind the rear seats ,im getting on average about 250 - 280 miles on a tank but feel a second tank would be a good advantage as when im on my travels collecting parts etc all over the place getting lpg can be difficult hence why another tank . im guessing a toroidal tank can be mounted vertically in place of the spare wheel .

i had this thought myself a couple of times, as i have an upright teroidal/donut in the spare wheel well of my saloon. Given that a few members have or have had both options of cylinder or donut, doesnt seem to hard to link the 2 together? how the plumbing would work though, not sure? presumably second tank only needs to be connected? or do you have to swicth from one to tother?

You can tee the liquid feed and fill pipes together provided the tank valves have non-return valves to prevent liquid transfer between the tanks. The higher of the two tanks will then empty first followed by the lower. When it comes to filling them, it will fill both tanks until one of the cutoff valve operates, then continue to fill the other tank until that also cuts off.
Our winches at the gliding club have such a setup with an 80 and a 100 litre cylinder IIRC.

To comply with COP 11 you just fit a 'T' in the fill pipe (easiest place is directly on the filler ;)) and a non return 'T' in the feed pipe. Easy enough to do TBH :y :y
Strangely enough, which tank empties seems to vary dependant on the cycle of the moon but you'll still get the full capacity from both tanks :y :y :y
As a word of advice though... Most LPG pumps cut out at around 100L (as do normal petrol pumps) and you have to do 2 fill ups and (in most petrol stations) 2 transactions... Not a major problem but can be very frustrating, especially if the Muppet in the station won't autorise the pump for the second fill >:( >:( >:(

sounds simple enough, for me the donut is lower already and has the plumbing in place, just add tee's and mount the cylinder which would would have be easily removable im my case to allow use of the through space to back seats.
However i wonder at what point the extra weight carried would cancel out the savings of lpg in the first place, and would you need armoured car police spec suspension? how much does two extra tanks with fuel weigh with ,in my case, tow bar as well.

you see my point though? we add enother tank to save running out and therefor having to use petrol. But does the cost of the extra tank and the loss of a bit if economy through weight justify the extra install? probably does but just wondered...?
for me its a shame there isnt another spare wheel well sized space on the right hand side for another donut. That would give 112ltr capacity and an empty boot. (bar the spare wheel) :)
