Post by: caran10 on 21 January 2010, 22:17:36
got yet another problem with my miggy
just come back from having a new power steering pump fitted car ran fine but cut out a couple of times then seemed ok apart from sudden loss of power which cleared and ran ok . Parked car at home ,went out about 2 hours later and it wont start , turning over but not firing dont know wether the immobiliser is playing up can it be disconnected hope someone can help

Dont think it would even turn over if it was the immobiliser iirc. :-/

Do the pedal trick test - similar issues on my 2002 2.6 - turns over but doesn't fire - cuts out when up to operating temp... pedal trick showed crank sensor fault.

Bought the sensor and having it fitted on Saturday (along with a few other bits Daz is sorting out... ) :y

Hope it is that as car hasn't really been driven in the month since it's been bought....

Nope... Wont do anything other than turn over ;) ;)

If it is the sensor, only use genuine Vx part :y :y

Yep... Crank sensor. Ignore the other codes until you've done the C/S  as it's quite common for the C/S fault to throw up some other strange codes ;) ;)

Use genuine Vx part only :y :y

sorted crank sensor out c ar runs again although still cuts out occassionaly on low revs and doesnt seem to be running smooth  did pedal test again and still getting codes 0100  0335 1512 is this normal , do they have to be removed manually
