Chris I got a login & username direct from the TC websupport folks by sending them a message on the "contact us" link from the TC site.

All I did was to give them my ABS number off the ABS card ..  got the details within a couple of days .. :)

Autobahnstormers give you a membership card, which when you present it at your local Trade club participating dealer will should sell you sevice parts, oil filter etc at Trade Club prices.

The ABS membership gives you access to the Vx Trade Club .. it is from the Vx dealers that you get your stuff at TC (Trade Club) prices ...

Only costs £20 a year. You'll get that back on your first visit....

for example

10W/50 semi synth oil... On TC they do the offer of 20 litres for £32.67 + vat

The retail price for 5 litres is £25.90 ...  so 20 litres would cost £103.60 + VAT

You have just saved £70 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Vx dealer also gives me "trade" discount .. about 10% ... on non-TC items

I believe that most of the oil burners recommend the 10W/50 semi synth .. but I'm sure one will pass by soon and correct me if I'm wrong !!!

As an LPG (smug smile) user the 10W/50 is excellent ....  :)

Didnt realise the extent of vx warrantys, in particular batterys are covered for 3 years. Thought it was 2.

Warranty

All GM parts are warranted a minimum of 12 months, unlimited mileage. All GM warranties are Europe-wide and cover both parts and labour. In the unlikely event that a GM parts develops a fault due to a material or manufacturing defect, simply call the service department of any Vauxhall or Opel dealer who will arrange to have the part replaced and fitted free of charge.

Certain parts enjoy a longer than twelve months warranty period as follows:

Clutches - 2 years, unlimited mileage

Exhausts - 2 years, unlimited mileage

Shock absorbers - 2 years, unlimited mileage

VXPRO remanufactured starter motors and alternators - 2 years/unlimited mileage

Batteries - 3 years, unlimited mileage

They are often done on a voucher type scheme, and often on a local scheme run by individual dealer groups.

the £1.42 filters are the spin on type, not cartridge ones
