You know you`ve distorted your anti-roll bar. What else do you want to know :D :question
-
yeah go on put salt in the wound!!! just worried about what effect that force may have had on pully it went up against ;)
-
sounds like good news if the anti roll bar bending has absorbed the impact and nothing else has bust, rebend it,job sorted !
-
If a pothole has caused that much damage to the anti-roll bar ... I'd be VERY worried about ALL the other suspension and steering parts, including the wheels ..
:(

: 8-)any idea what the job is like would i not be better off with a new one?? ohh man :( pothole nope! it was more like a roller coaster! :-[
A series of serious dips '3 in all ,and she came down real hard thankfully on a soft surface still hard enough to shag the front anti roll bar! maybe shocks ?or coils? or both needed? she's '13yr old and more than likely siting on what it came out of factory on. Any extra advice please! :-/

Easy enough to remove and refit. As to replacing it, depends on the amount of distortion and the availability of a replacement in your neck of the woods. Not a part you can stick in the post easily
-
roll bar is just conectted to front cross member then to drop links may have to replace bar and drop links shocks should be o.k as drop links will bend and may be bent :y :y

i would think its the drop links that are bent or broken not the anti rool bar it,s self because these wil be the weakest but may be wrong or then again it could be the anti roll bar mount on the subframe itself that has broken hth

Still unsure just what force it took to bend this item? It is a torsion bar of high tensile steel and I have seen cars jacked up by a trolley jack in the middle of it without it bending. To have it bend backwards towards the pulley, I presume it is the crankshaft pulley is remarkable. If you decide to change the anti roll bar it may be of help in your decision if it were pointed out that it cannot be done from underneath unlike most cars, the securing bolts for it go downwards. Thery are a real bitch to get to and it is not possible to turn them round either because the nuts are captive.
Godawful job cos I had to change the mounting rubbers and both drop links on mine.

Good morning to all, yep its anti roll bar thats bent for sure! its right up against auxilary belt and pulley so much so that engine cant idle properley!!! I'm heading down to recovery garage this morning. Any body like to hazard a guess as to cost of repair ????? :'(
-
OUCH!!!
Depends on whether the bloke is in a good mood really. Give him a good chat up line or better still get a young lass to take it in and wide eye him.
Do the OOF a favour and take a few pics and post them, it will draw a few wry comments I bet!

Turns out its the engine mounts, ::) they have failed completely. What kind of job should i be expecting? And where does one acquire these heavy duty rubbers as opel quoted €272 for 2 engine mounts.
The two engine mounts expired on the lift force created from that lovely road! i was'nt expecting that one!!!!! (we live & learn) garage quoted me 150euros labour so i need to source a more reasonable source A.S.A.P ;) Fintona spares in Co.Tyrone is my first port of call! I'm living in Co. Dublin! anyone with suggestion
Thanks,
Eric :y
