Don't know if anyone can help, i can't open my bonnet! The cable hasn't snapped, when i bought the car, the guy told me it was difficult, and showed me how to open it with a bit of pressure on the front of the bonnet whilst someone pulls the lever. He made it look easy and it opened first time. I have been trying for 2 days with no success! But, to adjust the cable/mechanism, obviously i need the bonnet open first.
Is there any way of opening this bonnet or removing the front grill with the bonnet closed?

get a fat mate to sit on the bonnet as you pull the cable, if no fat mates get someone to press firmly at the at the end of the bonnet, in the centre at the V, and pull the cable.
Then adjust :y

Have had same issue, mine works when car is on slope, engine down hill! but not on a flat! :-? I had to pull lever and keep it pulled for about 30 seconds and suddenly it went.

pleased to say the fat mate did the trick! Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, i undid the 8mm bolt, pulled cable through towards the wing, about 5mm, did bolt back up and tried the bonnet, but it didn't open and it felt like the cable had slipped back again. i did the bolt as tight as i could, any tighter and it went slack again, if that makes sense? i also sprayed all parts with loads of wd-40.
Maybe i'll just carry a fat mate around in the boot?!
Luckily, i checked all oil, water levels. etc before i closed the bonnet, and topped up washer bottle!

whats the condition of the hook like on the bonnet? worth putting some grease around that to help it slip back once you pull it. (ooo errr :o)
Glad it worked :y

Sounds like the thread might have stripped....?
Also WD40 isn't really up to the job for this. I used some spray grease, very carefully applied to the slide catch and the plunger...

I am sure that "Bolt" is just a self tapper, I replaced one with a nut & bolt, it may have been a wing nut, doddle to tighten then. :y
