Title: Td mpg
Post by: Shackeng on 28 January 2010, 23:12:12
As everyone else with a Td seems to get very good mpg, it is time I started looking to improve mine. It has always returned about 27 on local drives, and 33 on a motorway. Same before and after chipping. Can anyone suggest a methodical way to check any relevant items to improve things. :-?

TIA :y

When did you last change the air filter ?

Your quoted figures are about right for an auto-boxed TD.

Follow Turk's advice, but don't hold your breath, the autos are not known for decent fuel economy.

Gets changed very regularly, last time about 1000 miles ago. I should have mentioned that it gets serviced as recommended on here, with oil/fuel/air filter changes.
