Sounds like crank sensor mate - check fault codes - 19=breaked crank sensor :y
-

-
The paperclip test can be found here

Hope that helps :)

hi i got fault code 19...21...144...145 which is the immobiliser, crank sensor, throttle control sensor... i was woundering where would ur first point of call be???????????
-
Crank sensor
-
how come it is coming up with immobiliser fault??? could that be down to taking the battery off???
-
Crank sensor known to throw spurious codes. Does your EML flash when you`re trying to start the car :question
-
yeah and the car was runin like a dream the it disided not no start , why are all the other codes coming up on the paperclip test???
-
If the EML is flashing check the transponder chip inside the key hasn`t worked loose. (you`ve still got a C/S problem though) Oh, and update your profile, location, car etc :y
-
i will update it shortly lol keep forgeting is it goin to need a new crank sensor or can it be cleaned and wheres the best place to get 1 lol
-
New and genuine from VX, but, if your EML light is flashing when you`re trying to start it you need to resolve that problem or it will never start
-
so if t is the crank sensor and i fit a new 1 that light should go off if thats the problem????
-
When asked if your EML flashes when trying to start you answered yes, That points to immobiliser problems, so apart from the C/S issue you have an issue with the immobiliser. Have you checked the chip in your key.
-
i have had a look but dont know what to look for??? cant i cut the immobilizer out??
-
Switch ign. on. One of the lights will resemble an engine block (orange). Does it flash when you try and start the car :question
-
yes
-
Right, assuming you have a "horseshoe" type key. Remove the blade from the fob and check that the transponder chip is still in place. You can see the chip in this pic(http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z257/belisensis/OMEGAFORUM/transponderchip.jpg)
Left hand side, small black piece with writing on
-
it ent got one
-
It hasn`t got what. That type of key or no chip
-
no chip
-
Have you had the key apart since the last time you started your car, may have fallen out. Have you a spare key with chip. Without that chip it`ll never start and it means a trip to VX for Carpass with key and immobiliser codes recorded.
