Ok, i've had the car nearly a week, i decide to replace a blown dash bulb, only to find someone had remove the EML bulb, so i put one in and surprise surprise, the light stays on!
I've done the pedal test thing and got the light flash code, but not sure how to determine what it means.
I get 10 flashes, a pause, 4 flashes, a pause, 3 flashes, a pause, then 10 flashes again.
Can anyone tell me what it means?

0430 ... Cat inefficiency ... a very common problem with the 3.2 engine.
(0420 is the other downpipe!!!)

You have a precat and a main cat in each downpipe, the sensor is between the two .. so if the precat is slightly inefficient on comes the light.
There are numerous threads on the subject .... and numerous views on the cause amd solution.
My opinion is that it is caused by subtle changes in fuel composition, like changing supplier, as the only time it happens to me is when I go to/come back from the continent. I just reset the light with the maxscan and wait until the next time .. :)
Others believe it is a cat design problem and use stuff like cataclean in the hope of making the precat more efficient.
Others believe in moving the sensor to the otherside of the main cat as it is now in a "properly clean" area.
If you stick your location in your profile someone might be near and can reset the light for you .. you can then see how long it takes to reappear and base any decision on that .. :)

Excellent, thanks for the reply, so is it something i have to worry about straight away, will it do any damage if i leave it a week?
Reason i ask is VXL just took great pleasure in taking a small fortune off me for 2 front wheel bearings (£150 each!!!) and 2 front wishbones! Pus the 4 new tyres and the tracking setup.

Stick your location in your profile, several (well quite a few to be honest) members have the relevant equipment to reset the the light .. might be someone near you who can help .. :)

I'm hoping OP is near me, as we have a couple of things that could do with running tech2 over...
