As the title states, I am pretty well annoyed at two things at the moment.
Firstly as the auction cost that I was offered for my omega recently, apparently its not what ppl are looking for, big engined car.
The second at this very web forum for not allowing me to advertise my car for sale to people who live, love and enjoy the Vauxhall Omega, just because I don’t have over 50 post messages…..
All I wanted was for me to Part Company with my car to someone here on this forum to enjoy her like I have for the past 5 years.
I did post a message that lasted all of 10 minutes before admin deleted, without notice or explanation
So what options am I left with, well its either take the trade in, put it on an auction site, or dismantal and sell the parts… seems like a good Idea… probably get more money for her.
Now Im life pondering what to do with her

OOF is not a just a free eBay to sell cars, 50 post limit is designed to stop people just joining to sell cars and make money. Its to encourage people to take part in the forum, not just sell cars.

With the greatest of respect .... :(
You've joined a forum and NOT read the rules .... you've then posted in breach of those rules ... so the post was deleted ... and now you're moaning ???
IF you had read the rules you would have known and understood. If you had bothered to read the forum (called "research" in my day) you would have understood the reasons for those rules.
SO, now you haven't sold the car for what you wanted for it elsewhere .. and you seek to blame the forum ???
Methinks you need to get a grip on the realities of life .. and your own failings, rather than try and "pass the buck".
A very small amount of effort, a little "spirit of the forum", and a general "joining in" would soon have got you 50 posts .. but you couldn't be bothered.
You joined to sell .. and thats NOT what we are here for ...
So .. in like spirit ... "not bothered" .. :)

Not using it as a free ebay... just thought someone would be interested here first
-
Forum rules are there for a reason... To protect all parties involved. :y :y
You only need a post count of 50 to sell a car, which you aren't far away from ;) ;)
It's because people have just joined in the past to sell a car... Unfortunately that means that post count limits were implemented.
Join in a few threads and you'll soon be at 50 ;) ;)
Incidentally, you need 250 to post in the parts section ;) ;)
All explained in the Forum Rules :y :y

Well stop creating threads moaning about the rules, get involved, and you will soon have the posts required.

If he replies to this again he'll be another step closer ;) ;) ::) ::)

Entwood
I didnt join to sell.. as I had the car for 4 yrs before joining this forum
-
What you did... and how it looks.. are 2 totally different things ... :(
So .. you own the car for 4 years without joining.
You join
You try and sell the car.
You are not allowed to
You moan.
So .. how else does it look .. ?? :(
-
You will not get any more for it on here than you would on ebay. quite the opposite in fact, because most people on here already have one and know what they are worth(not much) :)

Has it got an oil leak by any chance?

How long have you had the car, is it 4 years or 5 years? :-?

Give him a break, he said he has had the car 5 years, he had it 4 years before joining here. I am sure he will get enough posts soon and be happy to advertise it to us. ::)

If he's selling it, it's a valid question. I'm not giving the bloke a hard time like others have, tell them to give him a break! :o

Didn't mean to accuse you of giving him a hard time Phil, I know he should have read the rules. I am sure he will have by now.

With a few more details it can probably be found on ebay completed listings,or have i misunderstood and its not been on there yet

Personally, if a post clearly breaks the rules - which are posted at the top of every single section on OOF - then I will delete it without contacting poster. I do not feel I need to waste my (limited) time on OOF explaining something that is a clear breach of the rules. If I moderate a post and I feel it may not be clear why, I will try to contact the poster.
Without wasting time trawling through the logs, I can't say who deleted it. It may have been me, could have been one of the others. But not really relevant, as the Admin Team 'act as one' when it comes to moderation.
The reasons why we have had to implement a draconian post count limit have been covered many, many times before, but results from previous abuse of these sections :'(. These rules are not flexible, as if we bend them for one person and not others, we then get in trouble for being unfair.
Good luck with the sale of your car, wherever that may be, and I hope your new chariot serves you equally as well :)

Read the note asking you to read the rules which is posted at the top of every OOF page!
How on earth can you be annoyed at OOF because you did not read the rules? For all the moderators knew it could have been your intention to do a quick sell and then disappear! That is the reason the rule was implemented in the first place. They did right to remove it because the rules are there for all of our protection and are equally applied to everyone.
Take 5 minutes and read the rules, if you don't agree with them you can always unsubscribe at which time it will be your loss.
For the time it would have taken for you to post 50 entries as a regular forum visitor which would have then allowed you to post your advert and stay within the rules your complaint is not really a valid one anyway. Don't be so petty!
