I am just wondering what this code ``82 - Sensor Injector Start Incorrect RPM-Signal`` realy means.
-
If its the Cylinder 4 injector, check its wiring. It feeds back to ECU actual injection start/timings.
-
I dont know what cylinder it is how can i check whitch one it is, also is the injector wire easy to get to?
Would you know of the simptoms that this causes

its the only injector with a wire on (no 4 - 4th one back)
It won't break down, but may pop into limp (reduced power)

Im finding driving the car thers only two ways,
Either as the clasical sunday driver
or
like you just stole it.
If it comes disconected will engine then stop running?
If it dose then should be my last job under bonnet!
(well exept for headlight bulb just gone off on me but thats all good got speare bulbs)
-
it should run with it disconnected i would have thought
-
I tried starting mine with the wire unpluged to see what happend when i cleaned the injectors. it fires up but dies as soon as you lift your foot off the gas it runs very rough and doesn't like it at all.
as TB says injector 4 the fourth one back from the rad..
look between the manifold you will see a plug with a black wire that goes to num 4 also gently check the injector itself the wire going into the injector can be brittle.
you will need a torch.
-
So its the wire that would need changing is this going to be a big job to find the other end or is it a straight forward change.
Can i safly assume that failing falt with the wire itself I will have to change the ijector as well/insted?
-
Just looked with a tourch now and it looks in good nick still flexable and not turned hard as expected like the leekoff pips (now changed and back to rubber after turning to almoste plastic.
-
you need to change the whole injector and there not cheap.
have you tried diesel magic in a new filter.
or if you feel confident remove the injector and strip it and clean it. it might be dirty
-
Oww not what i wanted to read but if thats so then Im just going to have to hope that some inject-magic(or whatever they sell) fixes the problem. Then filing that Im going to try folowing the cleaning guide.
My fingers legs knees arms and kids are crossed that it wourks out to be the cheeper of the fixes.
-
cleaning them is easy if the magic doesn't work just take your time there are photos on the maintenance section under diesel injector cleaning the injector feed pipes are a pain in the arse trying to keep them out the way :y.

Been there, done that too .......
It's the 'start of injection' sensor within, and it's not user-serviceable. A new one will set you back around 250 quid. You may have to remove the inlet manifold to access it's wiring connector too.
Symptoms of the sensor failing will be the EML constantly on, (plus the code), and the car will feel as if it's permanently towing another.
-
The light only flashes usualy when coming out of the turbo assuming it comes in at 2k ish. To me she dont fell like its towing or not running in limp mode like a lorry dose when out of addblue. With this said its had the fault from wher it was bought by me, so unles dramatical I am no wiser on performance, it still puts your head back if you drive it hard.

I'm off work Friday coming.
Do you want to come up to me in Maesteg, and I'll see what's what? (If I can!!!)
-
That would probably be grate I got an appointment I need to keep at 1.
It would be verry much aprisated as cant decide whot to do next with it. I was up there today looking at a fester for a mate. How can a man cover his car in flowers lol, seller trying to peal them off now before his main ride comes back from the mot.
