Hi Guys,
Following on from your help with my recent post "Autobox Tantrums" Kevin Wood has been to my place and run my 2000 Omega CD Estate (with 2.2 Ecotec Y22XE)) thru the Tech 2. What a piece of kit the Tech 2 is!.......Turns out that the results suggest, as several of you had predicted I need new camshaft sensor. I've looked thru many of the previous forum posts looking for a "How to" as i would like to do the job this weekend. Is anybody able to post a link to save me trawling please? :question And again my thanks to Kevin for his expert advice and guidance

there is not one as such, but its real easy, use my cam cover guide as a starting point:

Coil Pack loom connector off, black ecotec strip off, sensor is there.
Also need to take aux belt off, and cambelt cover off, there is a holding bolt right up between the cams. Remove this, small flat head screwdriver to get down to the cam sensor from above (its set down slightly, fingers are too fat) and pull.

Gone through the guides and I can't see one for a camsensor on either 4 pot or V6 :(
V6 has a CRANK sensor guide ... but thats not a lot of use !!!
Perhaps you need to write one .... with pictures ??? :)

Thanks Both Tunny for your guide which will get me started. Happy to take some photos and write a 'how to' Entwood, may need some guidance when i come to posting and entering text though ..watch this space!

I am in need of a how to guide to replace cam sensor on a 4 pod - looking forward to yours.

Sounds like a plan :y
write a guide in the test section, either put your photos on photobucket etc, or email them to me and ill add to the guide section :y

just be sure to replace it with genuine GM sensor.
Aftermarket ones don't work on 2.2 engines, that was the lesson bitterly learned :'(
