First things first - I put a can of RadFlush into the system and ran it for a few days to loosen any crud. I then drained the whole system by taking the bottom hose off the engine and flushed it through via the bottom heater hose. Looked like a river of mud....
Just doing the heater matrix is not going to be as effective cos any crud in the rest of the system is going to make its way back into the heater matrix so its best to do the whole system!
This is how, just take off the two heater hoses from the bulkhead pipes inside the engine compartment and connect a garden hose to the bottom one and another shorter length to the top one pointing to the ground so the water can drain away. Open the heater controls fully and then turn on the water tap.
The water should be dirty to start with and then turn clear. When it does reverse the hose positions and do it again. Do it again and when clear put the original heater hoses back on.
You will have to re-check the anti-freeze afterwards.
If your heater pipes have the wierd snap on ends there is a guide in the maintenance section showing how they come off. Careful though cos I lost loads of skin with the bottom connector. 'Nother useless VX idea!

Thanks Bionic & Lee, have already done the engine & rad with a really good flush. but suspect some c**p got into the heater matrix, so scuttle coming off next.

Cheers. :y :y :y
