The back end of my Miggy is sitting rather low. Not helped by the fact I have a 100 litre LPG tank in the boot!
Every time I reverse off my drive at low speed, which has a standard size kerb, there is a horrible noise from the rear and it feels like the suspension is bottoming out.
Does anyone recommend any uprated springs that will raise the back end and stop it sinking so low??
That tank weighs like an elephant...
Also - has anyone here ever done front shocks and springs? What sort of job is it? I've never really been into suspension work.

Front Shocks and springs are pretty easy... Need spring compressors though :y :y TB had his done at Newent ;) ;)
As for the rear end... Sure you don't have a broken spring? You could fit those airbag things inside the rear springs (assisters) or upgrade to Elite S/L :y :y

OK mate that sounds like a top offer - I have never done them before beleive it or not!
Suspension is not my forte - the most I have done is wishbones and brakes...

Rear springs are remarkably easy thanks to the 'how-too'. Jack it up, a few bolts, lower the diff and the springs pop out. :y
It just shows how well the Omega was designed for easy working/servicing.

Presumably, it would be even easier to do the whole job as one, and pop the shocks out first :y

Are there any "uprated" springs and shocks - maybe MV6 ones?

I was led to believe the police 3.2 specials had uprated rear components of the suspension to cope with the extra load. It may be an urban myth, or true...not sure.

James mate, there are heavy duty springs availible from KYB for the saloon.
I have the estate heavy duty on my tourer and they are as good as stock vx
Dead easy to fit as well. :y

I have spring assisters on my estate (just a rubber insert which feeds into spring coils), cheap and dead easy to fit and certainly helped.

Would bet good money that at least one rear spring is broken. :y
I believe the best upgrade is Bilsteins (top quality stuff) iirc DLK recently put bilsteins on Darth and was more than happy with the results. :y
