I do ask some wierd questions at times but I'm sure there's a boffin or two on here who knows.

problem is I may need a replacement head for my 2.2 if it cannot be repaired (long story) but the 2.2 seems to be thin on the ground secondhand so was wondering if the 2.0 is the same.

I don't know, but I think it may be.
The 2.2 is 'just' a stroked 2.0 with new-fangled ignition/throttlebody etc. so the head may be the same... :-/

I believe it is - check if the 2.0 one has got the coil pack bolt threads...

OK, maybe this will be of help to some of you guys at some time. I contacted the local dealer and got the part numbers of the 2.2 & 2.0 heads and they differ:
2.2 R1230075
2.0 R1230054

What the actual physical differences are (if any) I don't know but it may not be a good idea to buy one for the other without a physical comparison first.

Cheers
