Peter loyd raly in bryncethin(bridgend) they alwayse finished off my xr4i after all the after market stuff I put on them also get them to fine tune the cars just for reashurance, but hes local for me im not shure who closer again. Yes WiM have come highly recomended on here and also sethsmate sayse he will travle to WiM for his next alinement, he`s right in what he said to me it must be worth the travel as cost of trip will be less than a good set of rubber, it would be a full day trip for me to go to WiM so I am going to have to stick to local garages.

Thanks for that, will ring them
Just talked to Kng David tyres in Risca, seem to know what they're talking about, £60 + vat
Seems reasonable !

Almost spot on what I paid at Fleet Fit. Results look good and since it took 1¾ hours (30mins freeing seriously seized rear wheel adjustment) I was happy to pay it.

Peter Lloyd Rallying eh!
I was in school with this character, and the least said about my subsequent dealings with his operation, the better.

Turk has had his done somewhere up Llandeilo way in the past, but even he's subsequently made the trek to WIM.
That's why I'm gonna follow in his footsteps (tyre-treads) pretty soon.

Have they quoted for it at WIM ?

Take it from the members that have recommended WIM and follow that advice, yes you will have a long trip but you will not end up having to pay twice for the car being set up, and you will know that THE MAN has worked the orical on your pride and joy. :y
-
Cheers for the advice, its not the distance but getting time off for the trip is the problem !
I'll get the other drop link changed and then get a price i think :y
-
Ok i understand the time is of premium for you, But you will end up having to pay for someone to look at your car and say to you " there you go all the settings are now to spec and in the green" you then shell out £60/70 notes and go on your way.
6 months later your tyres are rubbing out on the insde edge and you then have to replace the tyres and have the settings checked and adjusted again, more expence and more time and hassel when you could have had it done once and done properly.Pls dont take this as a dig but more as food for thought. :y
-
Although its a long distance (Google says 135 miles each way) i would urge you make the trip.
Tony at WIM knows the Omega setup inside out, and they totally transform the handling, makes it feel like a new car. The machine they have there is excellent (Hawkeye i belive) not many of them in the country.
Last time i was there, an Aston Marton DB9 was on the ramps, local Aston garage sends all their cars there, shows how good they are :y
It will be cheaper in the long run as they will get everything spot on :)

What puzzles me is why is there an alignment place on the main road?
-
Don't go to King David Tyres.
They sounded good and have all the kit but they didn't know what they were doing. They couldn't explain why one tyre was scrubbing (it was a worn wishbone bush) so I opted out of the expensive 4 wheel exercise and just got the tracking adjusted. I wasn't 100% certain they used the right settings for that either..........however that was irrelevant when I eventually figure out the problem.
-
Thanks for the tips :y
Gotta do something soon, changed the steering idler and both drop links, still feels like its got 2 flat tyres (it hasn't ;))
oh well, back under the car this weekend !

Ring WIM for recommendations - they are opening 100+ franchises very shortly, so they may already have a recommended place near you, using WIM knowledge and data

Doesn't seem so - I'm booked into their place at Chesham next week.
Spoke to 'the man' this morning.
