Been looking through the forum about some symptoms i got on my V6 CDX firstly got mayo on oil filler cap.......... and the car on idle after 30 min run seems to be throwing out white exhaust smoke could it be steam? An amount u would expect to see on a car on first startup.
Oil and water lvls seems to stay same and pressure in the cooling system is some but not loads (like a coke bottle opening best to describe) the water (to me) smells of anti-freeze (good thing i know 8-) )
I thought at first was HG going, then after a read thought might be oil cooler, then after more reading think the h.b.v might be the problem. Now i confused and think i am just going OTT over nothing :-/
As a previous thread i do have the heater always blowing cold yet all pipes which should be getting hot is so i am assuming could be a servo problem? can someone PLEASE tell me where and which it is for hot/cold? :(
Thanks to all for reading and assistance in this matter

don't worry about mayo some oils are worse than others, generally generated on short runs, try few quick changes with GM 10/40 and long blasts down the motorway should clear it.
Does not sound HG as oil & coolant levels are stable.... is there any oil in the coolant expansion bottle?
-
no oil in expansion tank
just wondering why the car is smoking so much on idle (passed MOT less than 2 weeks ago and exhaust lvls passed)
Also like to note runs like a dream starts straightaway accelerates without a problem LOVE THE CAR :D

As Tunnie says, don't think you have anything to worry about, the Omega does give off loads of smoke/steam when the weathers cold
-
The exhaust system does steam quite a lot at idle. It's a large exhaust system and cools the gases a lot more than on some cars. I'd say you've got nothing to worry about.
Mayo in the oil cap is normal if the car is frequently used for short trips, especially in cold weather, but could be an indication that the oil needs a change.
I would also be inclined to check the breathers are clear as the mayo could be a sign that the crankcase s not being ventilated well.
Certainly nothing major to worry about though.

I had the same problem with my V6 a while back. After advice from others on here I flushed out my heater matrix and it worked a treat! :y

No urgency at all. Just something to bear in mind next time you're working in that area / at a loose end. :y
