Hi, I have had my 2.5 auto CDX 2000 reg now for 5 years, I had problems with vibration and had the prop balanced in the first year the vibration was better but not completely cured, it is felt between 30 & 40 MPH.
I have put up with it because I need to keep the car on the road as much as poss & having the prop sent off is a long winded job & it is at its worst when the weather is cold.
I think that the prop is still a little out of balance & perhaps the rubber drive couplings get hard and make the problem worse when cold.
Have any of you had this problem and could sugest a cure please?
Mike.

The rubber couplings would be my first port of call. Followed by the centre support bearing and the bush it sits in.
I also used to get this for the first mile or so after startup but have been making a conscious effort not to leave the car parked with any torque on the drivetrain to distort the rubber coupling. Ensure the handbrake is holding the car and then put the car in park.

hi m8 i had the same problem my centre barring rubber was weak "perrished"

Hi & thank you ! The front rubber coupling was changed but I will try and take the strain off the prop when parked that seams to make sense to me, perhaps shifting into neutral, aplying the handbrake and then shifting into park ?? worth trying anyway :y.
Would any of you know why my gear lever rattles ? it happens at higher speeds than the vibration from the prop so assume its something else, Any ideas ??
Thanks Mike.

engine mounts , I changed them and problem solved..
and a note: also you will feel some vibration from the steering even with full geometry done..

Ok thanks for that info would you include the rear gear box mount as well ??
