Title: EGR BLANKING PLATE
Post by: SnakePliskin on 18 February 2010, 14:37:34
I have just carried out the EGR blanking modification using a shaped and cut blank to fill the gap and an EGR gasket on each side. So it has been done to stop any leaks

My question is........

On X25XE Vectra V6's this modification is a common one and has proven gains. What gains will this provide for my X30XE?

It will cure any EGR faults from affecting the way the car runs. No performance or economy gains to be had (on the mig, or the Vectra).

Indeed, no performance gains or economy gains to be had the only minor benefit may be a slightly improved throttle response if flooring it after crusing at constant speed.

Note, you only need 1 gasket between the blank and the mounting bracket....you dont need one between the blank and EGR valve
