In the ongoing never ending quest to find my leak causing coolant loss, I took the car for a run and then got it up on the ramps. Engine running and there was drip drip coming out of a mystery rubber pipe above the oil cooler pipes on the right hand side (Uk drivers side) of the auto gearbox.
It looks as though it is some kind of drain pipe (about 3/4 inch ext diameter) as it comes out of the actual bodywork. There is a similar pipe on the other side but it is longer. Can't find it in haynes.
I didn't have the air con on to avoid any drips from condensate.
Any ideas please what it is? Oh and it was hot water.

Is it the condensate-drain pipe from the air-con evaporator......if it`s co-located with the heater-matrix; then it might point to a heater leak? :-/

Had another look in haynes and heater matrix is shown as a 4 out of 5 spanner job.
Can't find any reference to condensate drain pipes. Why would there be one either side of the gearbox?

Not sure about the Miggy; but (generally) air-con condensate is collected simply by gravity in a drip tray which discharges down through the floor.....perhaps the transmission tunnel means there are two such low-spots in the drip tray, requiring two outlet pipes.
If you`ve ruled out the HBV as a bellhousing-area leak culprit, then really the heater matrix must be the prime suspect....."4 out of 5 spanners said yes!" :'(

well been for another spin and got back on ramp. few drips and then it stopped. plenty of water in the header tank. Couldn't get it to do it again heater on, max off nothing.
It isn't the HBV . I changed that last month even though it wasn't leaking just incase.

If your heater matrix was leaking you would surely know about it. In my experience the cabin would stink of coolant, and the windscreen would be almost impossible to clear of steam.
If you get anything dripping under the car again, collect it in a clear glass jar and examine its colour and smell. Should be easy to tell whether it is coolant or not.
