hi
just done paperclip test and got fault codes 49 and 57............ 49-battery voltage high and 57-idle air control voltage low.......... how do i cure these??????
thanks

49 Battery not sure but could be alternator.
57 Low voltage usally means no power getting through so make sure everything is plug in propley.
I'am sure more experianced people will be along soon to help. :y

Measure the battery voltage at a fast idle with not too many electrical loads on. If it's over about 14.5 volts you probably have a failed regulator module on the alternator.

cheers kevin, will try that when it stops snowing!!!!!! :-/

back to code 57 surely if the idle control wasnt getting enough voltage my idle would be all over the place? as it is the idle is steady and good :-/

Do the battery check as Kevin Wood says :y
Is the idle rock solid, or does it fluctuate?
