Where is the easiest place to pick up a switched live for low current use (satnav etc).On my 2000 Omega the rear cigarette lighter was ignition live but on my new 03 it is perm. live which isn't what i need . Thanks

The rears are sometimes on a timer for say 15 mins after ingnition switch off.

Update .. there is an auxiliary tow bar socket which I think has ignition live . Any ideas where that would have been picked up from when the tow bar was fitted , would the fitter have run a new cable from the front of the car ; in which case i could splice into it , if i knew where they hide them . Or is there switched live already at the back somewhere ?

The socket in the boot area has a PERM live for your caravan
charging & fridge. The only ignition live would be if it had been added later, Vauxhall didn't fit one. :y :y :y

Thanks Andy , this has two sockets; and looking at diagrams of wiring these; the ' 2nd' has ignition live .

This might help then, but my 'ignition live' is actually from a voltage sensitive relay so just check where your's is fed from. :y :y
