Title: Washer fluid leak
Post by: Jimbob on 23 February 2010, 14:38:14
Had a slow and steady leak from where the HID pump sits in the washer bottle for a while.

Stripped it down, cleaned it all up, put it back together, and leaks like before, if not a little more.

very hard to see exactly where as access is tight, but does seem to be either from under the grommit, or under the pump.

any one got any good tips to stop it?

silicone sealer on each bit?  new grommit?

new gromit i would say, exploded TIS diagram show it, wonder if you can order it on its own from Vx.

You might need to take the pump out at some stage, so silicone maybe not best idea  :-/

probably, silicone not so strong you cant pull it off, cleaning up again would be tricky though

Mine has also leaked (badly recently I think due to ice action.  Had no problems with all my vehicles in recent winters but this one's been extra bad - my kept-on-drive Vectra's rear badges and wing mirror glasses have all dropped off due to ice and snow.  So am planning to get a new bottle for my Omega off Ebay for about a tenner - e.g.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WINDSCREEN-WASHER-BOTTLE-Vauxhall-Nova-Omega-Signum_etc,  and hope I can fit it without too much hassle.

I'm pretty sure your bumper will have to come off to get to the bottle  :-?
