Got a Wittig towbar on my prefacelift mig and wonder if it'll fit the facelift one?
Can't say I use it much but always nice to know it is there if I need to borrow a trailer to take some stuff to the tip. Plus, woman ran into the back of me once and while my car was untouched, hers was a mess where she'd hit the towbar.

yep :y

Mine is so yes

Mine is so yes
I think in theory that the reach of the two should be different to cater for the deeper bumper of the facelifts. The crappy fixed ball box section Witter originally fitted to mine stuck out miles from the back of the car, and looked like a section intended for the Forth Road Bridge :-?. The Bosal swan neck that was then fitted had the ball a lot closer to the bumper and looked a lot better. And now the 3rd towbar fitted, a Westfalia detachable, I think was also intended for a facelift, as when the ball is in place, the actual ball is again miles from the bumper ..... not that it now maters! :y :y ;)

All towbars of any age fit omegs the only fly in the ointment is eec type approval
iirc post 98 cars require an eec approved towbar (it has a label on it stating eec legalityt)so a pre 98 towbar cannot legally be fitted to a post 98 car.
I have been stopped on one of those motorway police/caravan checks and that was one item checked
check on witters webpage for legalities

Ding a ling, no problem switching it over although I needed a few more washers to pad out between the L shaped bit inside and the body. The rear bolts drop through the cross member so a spacer in there probably a good ieda too.

that means the one fitted to mine by "H.M. CONTSABLUARY MET DIVISION" to be used as a battering ram is legal then.

Took me that long to find a spare weekend to actually fit the tow-bar. That's kids for you.
Can never find anything on here so I just look at what I last posted and work my way back from there!
