Title: 3.2 Elite
Post by: alunonhisown on 27 February 2010, 20:47:06
Who is the nearest Tech2 to me.
My EML is on, came on this morning and I wanna sort it out once and for all.
So if I have a fair journey then that is what it will have to be.
TIA
D.

you don't need tech2, do the pedal trick. Details in guide section

The fault / cause itself, will need to be rectified. There is obviously an underlying cause - therefore you can put the tech2 on it and clear the faults till the cows come home, but it won't stop the EML from coming on!

I suspect it's probably the famous 3.2 Precat issues...

we had a theory, a dealer i know put into practice, move the sensors to after both cats, works a treat

Yep, that is a known workaround - it basically involves fitting blanking bolts to the existing pre-cat sensor holes, and then welding a lambda boss further back....  :y

Exactly, there is a HowTo on here for it, I wrote it when I did MarkMV6's for him ;)

So what do I need to do.
Shall I get an emissions Test done and report back or what?
I am totally clueless here.
As usual

Dunno if we done this test correctly, as never done it afore.
The numbers I came up with were
9388
But could have been 0388
But they flash a little too fast for me.
So dunno if this is correct.

Think you need to try it again, can't find anything with a double 8

I still reckon you need to get an emissions test done

Didnt it get one done for the MOT?

When I had my last MOT done they gave an emissions printout stating facts and figures......?

0388 is a Ford specific code: 0388 Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit High Input So it`s not that one ;)
