Sorry for my ignorance but can you clarify is it only the top of the plenum that is taken off. If so what are the plenum O rings , that should be replaced at the end of the guide . does this guide also cover the 2.6. Sorry to be so thick, once done it will seem so obvious. already have seals 90467543 and 90500983.

To remove the breather body from the top of the plenum first you have to remove the throttle body from the front of the plenum, as there are two pipes on the front end of the breather that insert into the throttle body.
To remove the throttle body you need access to the 4 torx bolts. The top two are easy enough, the bottom 2 are obscured by the cam cover. To get to these you need to raise the plenum, which is where the recommendation for the 6 plenum to inlet manifold o rings comes in.
In reality I dont think they really need to be changed, but if you want to do a proper job......

It's not much hassle to remove the plenum completely, and you might as well clean the throttle body and inside the plenum too.
When I removed the plenum I also removed the butterfly valve; that was quite mucky but all sparkling now, same for the throttle body.
You won't know if you need the 6 plenum O rings until you check, but a set of 6 is just over a tenner so not much for peace of mind of having new.

Thanks for your help is it a difficult job and should I take the scuttle off for better access. How long to complete the whole job

Not difficult but there are a fair few things to remove/undo.
Take your time and be systematic - I printed out the guide and ticked everything I undid and again when I put it back.
Also I never bothered with the big orings. Just be careful not to drop anything down the inlet ports...
No real need to remove the scuttle.

Just be sure to plug all conectors back in though. :y
I forgot to plug the one in at the back of the Plenum, Passenger Side Rear. :-[

When you remove the plenum do make sure you plug the six holes with something to stop bits falling in.
Like ians says, make anote of the things you do and then you can just refit in reverse order.
You'll need some carb cleaner (about £4 or £5 a can) to clean the mess of the various surfaces.
Done properly, it can make a big difference, like Mal found.
