Title: ABS ECU mounting
Post by: GaryBC on 01 March 2010, 12:03:32
I'll be refitting my ABS ECU when it comes back from the fixers and I have been thinking: why make life hard for myself?

The original M4 screws are all the same length - thus making the lower four difficult to get at. Why don't I, I am thinking to myself, fit longer screws and spacers? This would make the heads of the lower four screws as easy to get at as the top two!

Can anyone think of a good technical reason why I should not do this?

My idea is to match the lengths of the screws/spacers so that the heads of the screws are level with the casing. I'll let you all know how I get on.

Hi
Excellent idea, one I have used myself for difficult to access bolts, although not in this particular location as I've not needed to work there yet.  Cannot see any reason why it shouldn't work though.
