Title: Interior Light staying on.
Post by: belldarr on 02 March 2010, 21:58:54
Hi - 2nd Problem this week so far!  I got home tonight and I reversed my omega into the drive I parked, engine still running, I turn off the headlights and as I do so the interior lights above the rear-view mirror come on - I must have the headlight switch pulled out I thinks..... nope that is pushed in as it should be - I turn the engine off and get out, lock the car and the interior light still on.  I have had to remove the bulbs so I don't drain the battery overnight! is this a bad earth??  Or is it linked to my 1st problem = Sunday my speedo stops working and the steering is heavier (steering is speed sensative?) I dont think it's the ABS ECU as I still have traction control (tested that in the icy conditions this morning) and I still have ABS - my cruise control also still works.

Is all this related?  Fuses all look ok and no warning lights on the dash display.

My guess is either a dodgy light switch or it coud be a dodgy door switch (on the A post)

Thanks Andy - tested the pillar switch this morning and I don't think it's that as all the puddle lights go out ok and back on again when I release the button.  Its just the main light in the ceiling that is staying on.

Could it be the headlight switch thats broken?  if i turn the headlights on the interior light goes out - if i turn the headlights off the interior light comes on again....
