Is the Omega speedo cable driven? if so where does it get the speed signal from, gearbox? is it electrical? my car is a 2002 model and NOT ex-police.
The speedo has stopped working as per my previous thread and I am fairly sure that it's not the ABS ECU as all that side of things works perfectly.
Anyone had any speedo problems like this?

gets it from the ABS sensors i think :-/

tried gently pushing the clocks panel back?
sometimes connections work a little loose.

It works by Voodoo ;D
Is the MID giving meaningful instant MPG?

Correct nearside on rear axle.

Thanks for the replies gents - I did crash down an enourmous pothole on Sunday (who hasn't!) could this have broken something?
If I had damaged the abs sensor on the rear then would this light up the abs light?
Also tried thumping the dash and no joy - will push the clocks back and have a look at the MPG on the display.
I know the milometer is not clocking any miles while the speedo is out of action.

Just had a look at the MPG on the display and that is down to 14.9MPG with an everage speed of 20mph - so looks like that has been affected too.
I have decided to take the clocks out at the weekend and have a look at the back of the unit. Is this an easy job or shall I leave it to a pro?

I'd check the ABS sensor nearside rear first of all .. that provides the speed readout to the rest of the system.
Check for cleanliness, damage and any loose connections ... if you hit a big pothole you might have jolted something loose.
Way easier than taking the clocks out on spec IMHO
:)

Cheers Entwwod, will tackle the rear sensor first and then track my way up to the clocks :y
