Hi guys
My Elite has been resting for the winter and on re-connecting the battery I'm getting the airbag fault light staying on.
Is it a Tech2 job to reset or is there a trick to do it?
Of course, it may actually have gone faulty...
BTW, it only has the 2 in the dash - no side ones like my MV6 has.
Any help most appreciated.
Cheers.

Got to be a code reader / resetter im afraid.
one with live data can be handy if the fault needs pinpointing.
-
Ok, I suspected as much, cheers Jimbob

I know it's a distance but Hotel21 has a Tech2, I'm sure he'd have a look for a fistful of firewater tokens ;)

Thanks for that but unfortunately the car failed its MOT catastrophically on Monday - needs new sills, welding on front chassis leg (where you can't get at it cos the engine's in the way) and both rear legs.
So the airbag light is now the least of my worries!!!

Oh, should also have said...
Regards welding old cars - been there, done that, got the T-shirt so many times before (on Carltons) that I now know it ain't worth the effort and expense.
So after its current MOT expires, there'll be another Elite going to the big scrappy in the sky.
I've already got plans for the running gear but I'm sure I can claw some money back by stripping the rest of it - e.g. mint leather interior must be worth something to someone.

RIP my lovely 3L Manual Elite :'( :'( :'(

I believe, but am happy to stand corrected that your current mot is now invalid due to vosa`s computerisation and your car is now deemed unroadworthy until an mot test is passed and the faults corrected that the car has just failed on.

Hmmmm...
I thought the whole point of putting a car in early for a test was so you could fix it before the current cert expires.
Mind you, that practice was based on the old paper system so you could be right. I'll need to investigate that!

Oh, BTW, I was using "MOT" in the figurative sense as it was really just a checkover by a mate who does MOTs after I spotted some nasty bits underneath and behind the skirts.
It's what I do if I suspect an expensive problem so I get time to A) decide if the car's worth fixing, and B) get the money to do it before the actual MOT.
Oddly enough... he didn't bother doing any more after he checked the structural stuff! ;D

sadly, as soon as the mot station log on to the computer with your chassis number and record any findings, thats it >:( >:(
if the findings say the car is not safe to drive then that is what it says on the dvla computer that the police and insurance companys use >:( >:(
your mot ticket might say it expires at the end of the month but if you get pulled then you will be nicked >:( >:(
ps must type faster ;) ;)

That's pants, ain't it. I wonder how many people are not aware of this?
