Title: Revs not dropping?
Post by: Johna on 08 March 2010, 11:54:01
Hi Everyone

I've noticed something a bit strange on my Omega - not really a huge problem. When i go to change gear and dip the the clutch, the revs hold for a second or two before starting to drop. Just wondered if there was some sensor somewhere (surprise!) that I need to clean or change?

Many thanks!

There is a slight delay on DBW system, but that sounds excessive.

I'd recommend a full breather and throttle body clean as a first step

Sorry for being so dense on this stuff.  I have had a whiff of burning oil from time to time, which from reading on the forum, I gather is linked to the breathers too. I'm guessing the two issues could be linked then?

Thanks

John

Blocked breathers could have caused your camcover gaskets to fail, which would result in the oil smell. Opps.
