Title: code 96 on 2.5 diseesal
Post by: hoofing it on 13 March 2010, 21:03:47
was looking back at previous posts on blanking it off egr TB says it may affect cruising.
the current valve was cleaned and refitted along with other new parts non related also tried a spare egr and before fitting this i done 30 starts no codes showen then a trip to work and back its back.
could the sensor at the end of the black vac pipe be faulty.
so much for me being code free ;D ;D
only thing i will say that 1 turn of the boost made a difference better mpg now well better ish :y
before 22 around town now 28 ;D
forgot to mention engine man light flashes when foot lifted of the gas but no code 64 or 82 present weird :o

I doesn't actually measure the egr, it calculates based on other sensors.

Any air leaks anywhere?  Runs OK otherwise?

it runs like a sweetie dead smooth no burps, judders or hiccups:-? hit kick down it takes off from standing start.
the only thing it does do is hesitate if you kick down when your cruising turbo kicks in its slow to go.
its the same thing as 82 would throw up lift foot off gas then press down again it goes the only difference the speed limiter affect isn't there.
its a bit rattley when cold not as bad when hot (the lifters need doing) but runs smooth.

remove the egr vac pipe for a day or so, see if that improves the hesitation.
