Title: 99 v's 00 body work
Post by: bobbilly on 15 March 2010, 11:19:52
Is there a difference (other than the moulding strip, and the door cards) between the doors on a 99 model (rubber strip) and a 2000 (colour coded strip) ?

Ta.

nope, doors a physically the same in terms of metal. As you say outer strips and door cards are different, have a feeling wing mirror mounts are different too for facelift

Any idea if the rubber strip/colour coded one are interchangeable ? (I'll have to take a punt on the door mirror
but am hopeful a bit of drill/dremel work might sort it)

yup can be switched, quite a few people have done it, think pre-facelift ones are clipped on, but facelift bonded  :-/ Not sure, but they can be swapped  :y

OK clear a couple of things up.....

Pre and mini facelifts are bonded on.
Facelifts have a screw in each end and slide toward the front of the car to remove.

Mirror mounts are the same all through.
