Title: lambda probe

strange question to ask but here goes  :) getting p0170 code very annoying so changed the lambda but now realise that i have an auto 2.2 but i might have put in a manual probe  :'(
would that cock things up ?

I am not aware of any difference between lambda probes for auto and manual cars. I would be very surprised if there were.

What diagnostic steps were performed to determine of the Lambda probe was actually at fault and did it fix the problem? P0170 can have several causes including a faulty MAF, induction and exhaust system air leaks and so on.

my helpfull mechanic said it must be the probe,, than the maf,,and then it could be the exhaust (which he fitted) but the temp gauge dosent work now so it could be the CTS  ;D
oh what fun it is to own a car with so many sensors  :'(
